Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy works to improve health and well-being through the manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. The program is comprised of a 600 hour, two-semester, 9 month curriculum. Graduation Rate 83%; License Rate 100%; Placement Rate 80%.

The Massage Therapy Program includes training in various topics in massage therapy designed to prepare students for positions in specialized areas. Careers in the massage therapy field including health and fitness environments, salon and day spas, medical offices, private practices, and many other areas of opportunity.

The goals of the Mason Anthony Massage Therapy program are to prepare students for the state licensing examination and give students the advanced training needed to enter into the chosen profession with the knowledge to compete with licensed professionals.

Training encompasses three types of learning; theoretical knowledge - the foundation of the student’s education; practical experience - the application of knowledge, and professional business building skills which are vital for the student’s success. Each phase of the students’ education emphasizes a different combination of learning approaches.

All programs are offered in the English language only.

Therapeutic Massage Requirements, Massage Systems and Professional Ethics. This course encompasses the scope of practice, licensing requirements, professional standards and professional ethics and personal and professional boundaries.

This course includes an the medical, anatomical, physiological, and clinical vocabulary needed for Massage Therapy. Students will become acquainted with the vocabulary of the human body for systems including axial skeleton, appendicular skeleton, articulations and the musculoskeletal system.

The structure and functions of the ten body systems will be explored with emphasis on the skeletal, muscular, nervous and integumentary systems.

This course includes the understanding the effects and benefits of massage and contraindications for massage. Equipment, products and environment will be explored and infection control and safety practices will be taught and practiced with all procedures.

Students will learn how to conduct a consultation, use procedures and policies to determining a client’s needs and practice completing intake forms, body diagrams, and assessments. A major part of this course will encompass procedures for complete body massages, therapies and techniques.

Students will create a resume’, hone job interviewing skills and work on developing a professional image. This course will also introduce the student to the requirements for establishing a business, start-up costs and needs, bookkeeping and marketing.

Including topics such as digital marketing analytics, social media marketing, and paid media. When you complete the Digital Marketing Specialization you will have a richer understanding of the foundations of the new digital marketing landscape and acquire a new set of stories, concepts, and tools to help you digitally create, distribute, promote and price your products and services.
