Mason Anthony School of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences is a salon school that was founded in 2018 and named after its owners’ first-born son- Mason Anthony. It is owned and operated by Larissa Catapano. It is located in Hilliard, Ohio off Roberts Road and it is the newest, most affordable salon school in Central Ohio. The contemporary school offers state of the art technology, small class sizes, and personalized instruction from teaching professionals in its three courses: Advanced Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Manicuring. These courses are specialized for those who hope to become a cosmetologist, esthetician, or nail technician. The Hair Designer Program is coming soon to the school as well, which will focus strictly on hair services.

Mason Anthony’s Advanced Cosmetology Program is an 1,800-hour course covers hair cutting and styling, chemical treatments, texturing, and coloring, blowouts, manicuring, pedicuring, facials, makeup, and waxing. Students who attend Mason Anthony full-time (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) can complete this course in one year. Students who attend Mason Anthony part-time can finish this course in about a year and a half to three years. The Advanced Cosmetology Program is $19,095 and the program is eligible for Title IV financial assistance.

Mason Anthony’s Esthetics Program is a 600-hour course and it covers skin-based services such as waxing, facial treatments and masks, makeup, UV and infra-red-light therapies, brow tinting, lashes, and massages. Students who attend Mason Anthony full-time can complete this program in about four months. Students who attend Mason Anthony part-time can finish this course in about six months to one year. The Esthetics Program is $14,095 and the program is eligible for Title IV financial assistance.  Upon completion of Mason Anthony’s Esthetics Program, students may go on to the Advanced Esthetics Program, which is an additional 150 hours and $1,500.

Mason Anthony’s Manicuring Program is a 200-hour course and it covers basic and gel manicures and pedicures, acrylic nails, and nail designs. Students who attend Mason Anthony full-time can complete this course in about five weeks. Students who attend Mason Anthony part-time can complete this course in about two to four months. The Manicuring Program is $4,000 and payments on the program are made after completion of 70 hours and after completion of 140 hours. Upon completion of Mason Anthony’s Manicuring Program, students may go on to complete the Advanced Manicuring Program, which is an additional 100 hours and $1000.

The school offers its programs a tuition cost that is significantly less than all beauty schools in Columbus, Ohio. To enroll in any program at Mason Anthony, the process is extremely painless. Prospective students must provide a copy of their high school diploma, GED, or transcript. Proof that the student graduated from high school is necessary in order the begin. The student must fill out an Enrollment Agreement and Application, as well as provide a copy of their ID or Driver’s License. A deposit for the chosen program must be paid as well (ranges from $500 to $1000 depending on the course). Putting a deposit on a program at Mason Anthony will secure a students spot in the class if they wish to start within two months after their deposit is made.

Mason Anthony offers three schedules to its students. The full-time schedule offered at Mason Anthony is Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm and it is the quickest route to completion of any course offered at the school. The part-time schedules at Mason Anthony are Tuesday-Friday from 9am-3pm and Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5pm-9pm. The flexible schedules allow students to complete their chosen course at a pace that best fits their life.

Mason Anthony emphasizes hands-on experience for its students. The beauty school integrates theory and clinical work so that students are able to gain valuable experience and perform a significant amount of services on clients before entering the workforce. Students work out of the Milady workbook and textbook and are given kits that include everything they will need to perform services on clients.

Upon graduation from Mason Anthony’s programs, students will need to pass their State Board of Cosmetology test in order to begin employment in their industry as hair dresser, nail technician, or esthetician. While in school, students will cover all the theory and clinic work that is necessary to pass the State Board of Cosmetology test. After graduation, students are welcomed and encouraged to come back to Mason Anthony and prepare for the state board test with Mason Anthony instructors.

Mason Anthony also aims to help its students find employment upon graduation by bringing in salons in the area to network with the students. The salon school also offers an internship program, which allows its students to complete 60 of their clock hours out in the field observing and learning from a licensed professional.

In addition to offering courses for students, Mason Anthony is also open to the public for services. Its hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9am-9pm and Wednesday and Friday from 9am-5pm. The school offers a variety of services for the public, including hair cutting, hair coloring and styling, facial waxing and facial treatments, and basic and gel manicures and pedicures. Mason Anthony aims to give a full-service salon and spa feel for its customers, and customer service is its number one priority. All services at Mason Anthony are offered for $45 or less.
